Jason was born in Bac Lieu, Viet Nam in 1974. He was orphaned as an infant and was fortunately part of Operation Babylift in 1975. After narrowly missing the horrific C5-A plane crash (and actually being taken off the plane before it left Viet Nam due to illness), Jason made his way to America and was adopted and raised in a loving American family.
Over the years, Jason has made many trips back to Ho Chi Minh City to not only continue his birth family search, but also to give back through his charitable organization, The Spero Group. Through Spero, Jason and his brother establish for-profit businesses in Viet Nam, Ukraine and Moldova. These businesses then utilize orphans and underprivileged they serve to train, mentor and provide valuable life-skills for sustainable and independent life outside of the government and/or orphan systems.
Although he has used Family Tree DNA, his own search efforts and even leveraging Viet Nam Family Search, Jason has not located any biological family at this time. He continues his optimistic journey to reconnect with Viet Nam and trusts that in time all things will be revealed.
Jason owns a small company and works as a high tech consultant in America. When not working or in Viet Nam, his real passion is spending time with his family of four kids and wife of twenty years.
